Piping Cupcakes

Postby cream cookie » Sun Mar 07, 2010 1:00 pm

I've bought several nozzles now and I'm still not totally satisfied with my technique. Could someone advise me please - should I be holding the nozzle directly above the cake, or tilting to the side?

Also, is it best to pipe in one complete swirl, or pipe a complete circle round the outside, stop then repeat on the inside?

Grateful for any replies :)

Hi

If you type in Piping cupcakes in your search engine, lots come up with videos etc which show you how to decortate your cupcakes. Just follow the ones with the results you like. Some even show you the best equipment etc to use. Hope this helps. :)

Hi
I like to pipe in one big swirl starting from the outside of the cupcake and working towards the centre.
If you pipe tilting the bag to one side slightly you tend to get a frillier effect but even piping straight down works nicely if you have the right tube. I like using the 1M large star tube, product code K4022110 at £1.99.
Kind regards
Lin
