QUICK CHOCOLATE FONDANT ICING FOR CUP CAKES

This is a really quick and easy, delicious chocolate topping for cup cakes.

250g pack of chocolate sugarpaste - http://www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/viewpro ... p?pc=CHOCS
2 teaspoons of water

Put the chocolate sugarpaste and water into a plastic microwave bowl. Melt in microwave carefully checking every 20 seconds at first then every 10 seconds (it can burn really easily) until the mixture is a smooth pouring consistency and can be poured over your cup cakes.

I was told today in a cake specialist shop that I couldn't use roll out sugarpaste and water to make a pouring consistency.
Was he right to say that?

Hi Glossy,

We have two experienced cake makers here who have both done it, so in answer to your question, it is an option to produce chocolate fondant icing. hope this helps!

Thanks Lynne, shall definitely be giving it a try.

I particularly liked the look of this cake but would I be right in thinking this icing gives a matt finish? Of course the sheen of the stars complements the finish here but is there a spray or something that would give a glossy appearance if wanted?
